Charges and Mandatory Mental Health Counseling for Snowmobilers who Ran Down a Red Fox

Charges and Mandatory Mental Health Counseling for Snowmobilers who Ran Down a Red Fox
The Issue
On January 20th, 2025, two individuals riding snowmobiles were observed harassing and running over a Red Fox in Heidelberg Township, Pennsylvania. The location of the incident was near the intersection of State Route 501 and Locust Street in Lebanon County. The two individuals harassed the Red Fox for 30 minutes and ran it over several times. The incident came to public light when a video was posted to the Pennsylvania Game Commission's Operation Game Thief Facebook Page. The Pennsylvania Game Commission-Southeast Region was seeking information about the identity of the two individuals due to illegal harassment of wildlife.
The two snowmobilers have since turned themselves in to authorities. Their names have not been released, however the ages of the perpetrators has been made public. They have been identified as a 20 year old man and a 17 year old juvenile. It has been announced that charges will be filed against the two individuals.
Please sign this petition asking the Pennsylvania Game Commission as well as the Lebanon County District Attorney to pursue charges against the two individuals as well as mandatory mental health counseling to identify the undelaying reasons as to why the two thought this atrocious action was acceptable. In addition, require the two individuals to enroll or repeat the mandatory Pennsylvania Snowmobile Safety Course as well as strip them of any hunting/fishing licenses they may hold.
It is important that this incident does not go without repercussions. Now is the time to encourage public officials to pursue charges so as to send a clear message that this type of inhumane treatment of wildlife is unacceptable.
