On August 24, 2016, the Shiawassee County animal control deputy along with numerous authorities and shelter employees rescued over 110 cats from a condemned property.  A licensed vet, Nancy Bischof was the owner of the property as well as a self-proclaimed cat sanctuary called "The Cat Project Michigan".  While Ms. Bischof lived in Arizona, she had employees going to the property to care for the cats.  However, when the workers CONSTANTLY reached out to the vet stating that many of the cats were severely sick and needed her attention, she continued to ignore the pleas for help.  An employee could not watch these cats continue to suffer. So she reached out to Shiawassee Animal Control Deputy, Kurt Stetchulte.  The house was condemned due to the roof leaking on electrical, causing the lights to flicker. Ms. Bischof, upon hearing of animal control headed to her property, fired the employee who reported her and decided to return to Michigan.  The "unsafe and dangerous" house had numerous cats locked in, a garage was full of sick, dying cats as well as feces, decaying food, mold and urine stained surfaces.  The horse barn was full of feral cats (some unaltered) who were sick and living in the walls of the barn as well as approximately 20 cats just loose on the property. The cats went days without food, water or clean living areas.  Three shelters stepped up and took the cats to safety.  As a vet, Nancy Bischof led people to think she was a savior for these cats. When in actuality, she was an executioner.  She had all the tools and the monetary avenues to care for these cats, yet she did not and instead let them suffer in filth.  Please sign this petition to let the Shiawassee County Prosecutors Office know that we will not stand for this animal cruelty and neglect. Ask the prosecutors to bring animal cruelty and neglect charges against Nancy Bischof as well as forbid her from owning any animals.  Be their voice and send a message that this will NOT be tolerated!
