PLEASE COME TO THE TOWN COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT at 7pm. Show the Town Council that teens are serious about this issue!!

PLEASE CONSIDER SPEAKING BEFORE THE COUNCIL. As a citizen of Chapel Hill, you can make public comments on any item the Town Council is considering. Please register to make public comments on the Town's Climate Action and Response Plan when you register for the meeting. Speaking time is limited to three minutes. 

This is a chance to really have an impact on an issue I'm sure many of you are passionate about. This is a chance for you to change our town for the better. To protect our future and the town and planet we all love. Too many people in Chapel Hill refuse to speak truth to their local government because they don't feel like they know enough. I'll tell you that right now, 95% of the people seeking before Town Council know less about our town and its history than what was contained in the 15-minute presentation I gave to you all. All they know is that they don't like whatever building, or park, or bike trail, and yet they still manage to have an impact. These projects are stopped, or watered down, and our town is permanently set back in our fight against climate change, all because of people who have no interest in this town other than how their real estate investments can line their pockets. But to us, this community is more than an investment. Many of us were born here, and grew up here. This is a special place to us. Speak up and demand that your local leaders take strong action on climate change by building a compact, mixed-use, livable, transit-oriented town. PLEASE MAKE PUBLIC COMMENTS.
