ABC Television is known for creating edgy, entertaining, thoughtful and funny programming. Above all, however, is ABC's commitment to diversity and progress in their programming. This week has started off with some disgusting and racist behavior from Roseanne Barr, creator and star of the comedy series 'Roseanne.'

The fallout has been quick, as comedian Wanda Sykes has announced that she will not remain a part of the show in the wake of Ms. Barr's racist screed. Twitter has come alive with shock at Roseanne's racist comments about prominent black leaders. It is unacceptable and must be addressed.

After Roseanne's racist comments on Twitter, ABC should move to immediately cancel this show. Our country is filled with so much hatred these days, and television (especially half-hour comedies) should be a respite from the darkness that surrounds us. We, the undersigned, respectfully urge ABC to drop 'Roseanne' immediately from their network.
