The film 'Injustice' was made twenty years ago by Ken Fero and Tariq Memood of Migrant Media. It documents the struggle of black mothers and sisters to get justice for their loved ones killed in police custody. 

Despite winning awards and being shown at 70 film festivals around the world, Injustice has never been shown on UK television. 

This ongoing story, within the ongoing Black British civil rights movement, needs to be shared. Please join me in backing the families calling for this film to be aired.

I want to uplift the voice of Myrna Simpson. She says: "My daughter Joy Gardner was killed by the police on 28th July 1993 and ever since then Migrant Media have been supporting me, and the other death in custody families, by making films about our struggles so that our voices are heard. It saddens me to hear about George Floyd because every death reminds me of Joy. Myself, and all the other families in the film, need ‘Injustice’ to be shown so that people can hear the truth about what happened to our loved ones”.

Film-maker Ken Fero says: "It’s nearly 20 years since 'Injustice' was released and the impact of the film continues. This is despite attempts from police officers which the film accuses of manslaughter and murder who tried to suppress the film by threatening libel action. We defeated this thanks to the support of many thousands of people across the world. So come on Channel 4, have the courage to screen 'Injustice'. It’s in the public interest”
