The Pastors Aid Committee of Community Outreach Church of God in Christ would like for the City of Hiram to rename the entirety of Church Street (between Hwy 92 and Main Street) to ARENZA HINES STREET.

We are asking the City to honor our late Pastor and his wife Mother Perrella Hines for their decades of service to the community.

For 28 years Pastor Arenza Hines, a native of Paulding County, led the congregation of Community Outreach Church of God in Christ located at 34 Church Street in Hiram. 

Since his passing on January 3, 2018, Mother Perrella Hines has taken over the leadership of this historic House of Worship.

Their leadership has been instrumental in the Church being a beacon of hope in the community, providing food to the unfed, housing for the homeless and hope for the hopeless.  Our church is an important landmark for the African-American community and for the City of Hiram in general. 

It would be fitting that the road that provides entry to the church be named for the two leaders of this landmark and historic church. It should also be noted by the Council that Community Outreach, Church of God in Christ is the only building with a post office mailing address on Church Street.

We, the undersigned, are petitioning the City of Hiram to honor our request to rename Church Street to Arenza Hines Street.
