First off — thank you.

Over 200 people have now signed our petition for safer roads on Monck Road. Over 200 people have stood behind our children, our family, our neighbours, and our community. That means more than I can even put into words.

But we still need more voices.

Because this morning proved exactly why this fight matters.

Another driver decided being in a rush was more important than children getting safely onto a school bus. A grey van drove through while the bus arm was still out, the stop sign was displayed, and the lights were flashing — simply because the children were loading from the opposite side of the road.

This is NOT okay.

People are gambling with children’s lives because they are impatient for a few extra seconds.

We are constantly told Monck Road does not “meet criteria” for changes. But what is the criteria? How many close calls? How many tears? How many tragedies? How many families have to carry grief before something is finally done?

This road already carries too many stories of heartbreak.

Our petition may have started because we lost Chunk, but this fight is now for every child waiting for a bus, every family driving this road, every neighbour who has lived in fear, and every person whose voice has been ignored.
