UC Riverside is surrounded by hills home to many animals, most notibly the wild Burro, which often wander onto campus as well as the surrounding neighborhoods. Many students love the presence of the Burros in the community, going as far as to make social media pages dedicated to the animals (@DONKEYSATUCR).

UC Riverside has an underwhelming mascot, Scotty the Bear, which is why I am petitioning for UCR to change their mascot to the UC RIVERSIDE BURROS. The Burros are beloved and we should change our mascot to reflect our appreciation for the existence of these peaceful creatures.

I propose UC Riverside to be home of Barry the Burro.
