My daughter is the victim of sexual abuse.  The abuser was her father. The case is ongoing, as is the need for financial assistance. 

The requirements for victim's compensation are that a crime be reported within 3 days of the crime. As many know, sexual assault victims do not typically come forward that quickly.

Changes to victim's compensation should be that; there is no time frame to report sexual assault crimes, especially children.

The change to victims compensation would allow more victims and families to receive assistance and to stabilize financially after this kind of trauma.
