Currently under the Victim's Compensation Act all individuals must apply for victims compensation one year from the event even MINOR children.  

How this change affects individuals, adults that were minors at the time of event will be eligible to apply for benefits.  As it stands victim's like myself are not eligible because we didn't apply as minor(s) to receive benefits including compensation for mental health.  

Now is the time to act and change the statue in the Victim's Compensation Act so that adults can get the mental health they need to process what happened to them as minors.  Most children don't receive the mental health they need until adulthood, and this would provide them a way to help pay for those cost.
