Change the Tethering Laws for Dogs in South Carolina County

Change the Tethering Laws for Dogs in South Carolina County

The Issue

This is personal to me because I have a huge heart and I am someone who loves animals. There are so many animals that are being dumped, mistreated, or not living the kind of life they should. I personally see dogs being tied to chains and trees with no love, and no time off chains. It's inhumane and needs to be stopped. I have done what I can. I have called animal control, I have called the sheriffs office. But, laws are laws and this is one law that definitely needs to be changed.

In the city, dogs can only be tethered for a limited number of hours per day, but there is no such law in the county. This lack of regulation leads to cruel and prolonged tethering practices that cause immense physical and psychological harm to these innocent animals. Dogs left tied up for extended periods suffer from neglect, exposure to harsh weather conditions, lack of social interaction, and even injuries from their restraints.

We need consistent laws across both city and county areas that protect our pets from such cruelty. By implementing a legal time limit on how long dogs can be tethered in the county as well as ensuring proper shelter, food, water provisions when they are tied up will help ensure their well-being.

Please sign this petition to urge our lawmakers to change the tethering laws in South Carolina County so we can better protect our beloved pets from unnecessary suffering!
