The Issue
In February 2018 , Fourteen Year Old Adaesia O’Garro Was Put Onto “Long Term Suspension” From Falmouth High School For Allegedly Threatening To Post Inappropriate Pictures Of A Girl In Her Grade. The Student Had Went To The School And Told Them Adaesia Posted Her Pictures. The School Resource Officer And Principal, Mary Gans Suggested That The Student And Her Parents Move Forward And Press Charges Against Adaesia. Once Brought To Court Mary Gans Had The Power To Make A Decision On Whether Or Not Adaesia Would Be Able To Attend Falmouth High School Or Be Put On “Long Term Suspension” Until The Case Was Over. She Decided To Keep Adaesia Out Of School. The School Provided Adaesia With Tutoring During Her Time Out Of School But None Of Which Counted For Anything, Forcing Her GPA To Drop Drastically. She Is Still Trying To Fix Her GPA To This Day. She Is Now A Senior At Mashpee High School And Taking Double The Classes In Hopes To Catch Up And Graduate On Time. After A Ten Month Long Fight With Falmouth High School And Falmouth Juvenile Court, Adaesia Proved None Of The Following Rumors Were True And All Charges Were Dropped. Even Then, When Allowed Back In School She Was On A Strict Contract. She Was Not Allowed To Bring Her Cellphone To School , She Had To Be Escorted To The Restroom & She Was Not Allowed To Eat Lunch In The Cafeteria With The Rest Of The Students. Many More Rules Continued. The “Long Term Suspension” Is On Her Record To This Day And Has Made Applying To College’s Very Difficult For Ms.O’Garro.
In August Of 2020, Two Falmouth High School Boys Ages 16 & 17 Got Drunk At A Party And Beat A Franklin Boy Unconscious. It Took The Boy 10 Minutes To Regain Consciousness. He Was Taken To The Hospital Where He Was Placed With Two Metal Plates In His Jaw That He Will Forever Have To Live With. One Of The Falmouth Boys Father, Who Owns A Very Large Company In Falmouth Lied To The Police About His Son Being At The Party, Trying To Cover Up For Him. The Truth Eventually Came Out And Charges Were Pressed. These Two Boys Are Still In School And Also Playing Sports. When Mary Gans Was Questioned On Why They Are Still In School She Said They Would Continue To Be In The School And Remain On Sports Teams “Due Process Of The Truth”.
My Only Question Here Is. Where Was Adaesia’s Due Process? Why Is Her Life Ruined While These Boys Run Free?
