The letter W is the only letter in the alphabet that phonetically has more than 1 syllable. When you have to spell out words, the letter ‘W’ is 3x longer than its counterparts. This is unacceptable and inefficient. Hence, I suggest changing it to a 1 syllable letter. I suggest ‘wow’ as it is a unique sound in the alphabet and still familiar to the American English. Other annunciations I consider but would be mixed with another letter are ‘way’, ‘wee’, ‘woah’ & ‘wuu’ as they are similar to but not limited to  A’s,  B’s, O’s & Q’s annunciations respectively.  

Critics might say “That’s the way it’s always been and there's nothing we can do about it.” This is frankly an unconventional way of looking at history and the evolution of human language. Even how the letter W changed its shape from double U being merged to now the modern shape of double V. Therefore I say why not let ole W get another evolution.
