The phone policy is interfering with important outside of school obligations. Lunch and free period is our time to do what we feel is important/helpful. The two chosen areas that allow phones are both the lowest quality wifi/cellular zones in the school. We should be able to quickly respond to emails and/or text family without having our phones taken and receive an infraction. Putting phones up during class is an understandable rule to keep us focused during class, but we should have the ability to use our phones during our free time. For those who have jobs, siblings, and other commitments, they need to be reachable throughout the day. The phone policy needs to be changed to allow phones during free period and lunch.
