Help us save summer for our kids! The North Pocono School Board voted to start the 2025-2026 school year on August 21st without considering any of the many concerns from local families. There was an online google form where numerous people left their comments and concerns, however, the school board did not receive any of these comments until after the meeting. Instead of waiting on the vote after hearing these comments, they decided to vote in favor of starting August 21st anyway. 
Not only is this interfering with many families’ already planned vacations, but also adds increased stress and financial burden during the school year due to having 2 extra Fridays off. 
Also, this was a major decision that I feel should have been made well known to the community and perhaps a poll should have been provided earlier on. 
I am asking that if you want the school board to revisit this, that you please sign this petition. Every signature counts. Hopefully with enough signatures we can get this changed!
