At Ralston High School there was a rule implemented where students need to sign a google form to be able to go to the counselor, this could take up to 2 school days just to get approved. I witnessed a student have a bad panic attack in class and they werent able to go to the counselor. This is rediculous because students have anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and mental conditions that REQUIRE a counselor whenever needed because you cant plan when you will have a panic attack. Before you would get a pass to go to the counselor and now you cant do that, its a students right to utilize counselor and psychology services provided by the school whenever needed, its not a rewarded system, it is a students right to be able to have these services when they need them. Some students are in critical need of help and something bad may come as a result when these students no longer have access to this service whenever they need. Please carefully consider this Ralston Public Schools, think of the children and their mental health.
