Change the General Manager for Team Singapore in the 2023 Overwatch World Cup

The Issue

Sign this appeal to get Blizzard and the Overwatch Esports Team to change the current General Manager of Team Singapore in the 2023 Overwatch World Cup, ladydeath, from her position! A General Manager of a national team should be transparent and not act against the interests of her players and the team!

The Overwatch World Cup (OWWC) is an annual international Overwatch esports tournament organized by Blizzard Entertainment, where teams represent their countries and compete against each other.

The Competition Committee, consisting of the General Manager, Head Coach and Social Lead is responsible for selecting the best roster for their country to send to the event. This year, Singapore's competition committee consists of Ladydeath (GM), JohnGalt (HC) and rXis (SL).

The initial roster chosen consisted of Lumi, Sgy, Azalea, Bubblekitty, Overshake, Xexo and Kame.

On 13th May, Ladydeath used her power to inform Blizzard that the team would be kicking Lumi, Sgy and Kame, without informing 1 committee member and the rest of the team. The only other person who supported this decision was the Head Coach, JohnGalt who hasn't been with the team for 3 weeks prior to that and was in the process of stepping down.

These 3 players who were kicked were 3 of the most experienced and most achieved Singaporean players in Overwatch, essentially removing the core of the team 1 month before the Regional Qualifiers. Due to this sudden decision, the rest of the team has also stated that they will refuse to play with these three players gone. Thus Team Singapore currently does not have a roster 1 month before the Regional Qualifiers.

Ladydeath had told the team and the Social Lead that she was working with Blizzard to approve the roster decided by the team, however after a full day of practice sessions where both she nor the Head Coach did not attend, she called Sgy and Kame privately to inform them they were kicked, citing toxicity. No one else was consulted and agreed with this decision. She has previously claimed that transparency was important to her and every decision should be made as a team. However, she completely lied to the team and made a decision that essentially ruins any chance the team had in the event on her own.

Currently, she plans to rebuild the team however no player in the local Singaporean Overwatch scene wants to try out for the team due to poor management.

Action needs to be taken immediately as Singapore had no roster 1 month before the regional qualifiers and will either have to forfeit the entire tournament or send a roster doomed to fail.

A detailed summary of the team's issues can be found in a Twitlonger by rXis, the Social Lead of the team: https://twitter.com/rXisOW/status/1657514839164723200

An interview can also be found with rXis, Lumi, and Kame about their experience with Ladydeath: https://youtu.be/L1Hj2ut5RYM
