We the students of Exeter High School have grown tired of the blasphemous sounds of the school bells. For three long weeks we have endured the dreadful noises which emit from the PA system at the change of our classes. The administration at this school has failed us with their selection of our bell and we are outraged.

This fall at the start of the year our school was fortunate enough to gain access to a brand new phone system. However with this system came a new bell which means our old beloved bell was lost in the transfer.  Not only was our old bell forcibly removed but it's tone was desecrated and disrespected by those that sought to replace it. The current bell to which we are forced to use resembles the sound of an airline intercom and in high decibel areas such as the cafeteria the sound of said "airline" bell is far too faint to be heard by the students. 

At the very top of our list of grievances there is the fact that the administration failed to include the student population in their decision for this new bell. This was utterly distasteful since we the students are the one this bell was created for and alas we have no say. Our bell is our birthright and we demand immediate action be taken against this outrage.

We students are no barbarians in any way. We wish to settle this conflict democratically as our founding fathers intended us to do. We call upon our administration to grant us a vote in what sound we would like to hear at the change of our classes. Something as simple as a new sound every day or perhaps a new one every period with a Google form where the students may voice their opinions would suffice. 

We call upon our administrators to hear our grievances and take action upon them as they solemnly swore to do.
