The Issue

Change a local volleyball game date to not make it 5 PM on October 30

SIGN FOR YOUR SENIORS ITS THEIR LAST HALLOWEEN HERE!!!

For our senior volleyball players, this isn’t just another Friday night. It’s their last Halloween weekend together before graduation, and they’re being forced to miss it.

On Friday, October 30, our girls volleyball team is scheduled to play the first round of FCIACS at 5 PM. Because the game is so far away, players will spend most of their evening traveling, competing and returning home, leaving them unable to enjoy the first night of Halloween weekend with their friends.

These girls have spent years dedicating their time, energy and commitment to their school and their team. Now, in their final year of high school, they’re being asked to sacrifice one of their last opportunities to make memories together.

For underclassmen, there will be more Halloween weekends in high school. For the seniors, there won’t be another one. Next year, they’ll be graduating, going their separate ways and starting new chapters of their lives. This is one of the last chances they have to experience a tradition they’ve looked forward to throughout high school.

We understand that the county championship is important, and these girls have worked incredibly hard to get here. We are not asking for the game to be canceled. We are simply asking for it to be moved to another date or time so the players don’t have to choose between representing their school and enjoying a meaningful part of their senior year.

They’ve given so much to their school. Is it really too much to ask for one night back?

Please sign this petition to help move the October 30 volleyball game and give our seniors the Halloween weekend they deserve. Once this night is gone, they can never get it back.
