Change the culture at NHS dentists

Change the culture at NHS dentists
The Issue
My Petition has come about through learned experience.
On July 8th, 2022 I had a dental appointment at Broxden Dental Center in Perth. My usual dentist wanted to refer me to have retained roots removed as there was a spot of infection giving me the feeling of toothache.
I arrived on the said date & had a vague feeling of intrepidation. I had not been told about how the work would be done, & not told about what might happen afterwards,-- not by my own dentist & not by the referral dentist. I was not propery informed. (I was ill for a week with the side-effects/after-effects, e.g. hematoma, diarrhoea).
Once the refferal dentist began her work on the 8th, with 4 injections 2 of them painful, I realised it was going to be bad; it was just dawning on me, but I still didn't know what her work would do to me. I had not been told it would be a very difficult experience; it felt like I was being tortured
Afterwards I could barely sit up; the nurse was unkind to me, even hostile thinking back, using inappropriate words & a hostile face & having sloppy practices. The dentist had scuttled away to the other side of the room keeping her back towards me, she knew all along it would be bad for me & so did the nurse; neither of them wanted me to re-act. They both showed behaviour which amounted to Bad Practice; they traumatised me. I believe my story is not unique & there are many other dental patients out there who have experienced this type of trauma.
Here is what I think should happen now;- 1) Change of Culture. That patients should be told beforehand what the dentist will do & what may happen afterwards. 2) A Legal Dental Charter which will be separate from other health issues. 3) A Regulator must be put in place. The NHS does not have full control of 'outside'/independent dentists, they are contracted, dentists can do as they like & get sloppy in their practices. 4) Full committment to Patient-centerd Care by dentists, nurses & all dental staff.
I have done the Formal Complaint process & the Ombudsman process; I would now like to see if anyone out would be prepared to sign my Petition.
