Please help me change the City of Oxnard's ordinance to allow mini pigs as pets. Changing this ordinance affects all City of Oxnard residents. Per the City's ordinance: 

 

(F)   HOUSEHOLD PET - Cats, dogs, canaries, parrots and other animals and birds usually and ordinarily maintained in or around a residence for the enjoyment of the owner.

SEC. 5-26. SWINE PROHIBITED. No person shall maintain, cause or permit to be maintained swine, hogs or pigs within the city.

These ordinances are outdated and the city council should change them, as mini pig ownership has become more popular in the last 5+ years. Why? Because mini pigs are amazing household pets. 

Mini pigs are very intelligent animals. They are very quick learners, respond to their names, perform tricks, and walk on a leash. They are also extremely clean. Mini pigs do not have body odor, are hypoallergenic, and are not prone to fleas. Additionally, mini pigs are exceptionally loving and affectionate. Mini pigs are herd animals and do better with other mini pigs in their environments. Mini pigs become very attached and will form strong bonds with their families and other animals in the home. When properly socialized, they are happy to meet new friends. Pigs are rated the 4th smartest mammal, after humans, primates, and dolphins! They have a lifespan of 12-15 years when properly cared for.

Let the City of Oxnard know that they should change the ordinance now. Allow mini pigs as pets in Oxnard! Thank you!

Por favor, ayúdenme a cambiar la ordenanza de la Ciudad de Oxnard para permitir mini cerdos como mascotas. Cambiar esta ordenanza afecta a todos los residentes de la Ciudad de Oxnard. Según la ordenanza de la Ciudad:

(F) MASCOTA DOMÉSTICA - Gatos, perros, canarios, loros y otros animales y aves que se mantienen generalmente y ordinariamente en o alrededor de una residencia para el disfrute del dueño.
SEGUNDO. 5-26. PORCINO PROHIBIDO. Ninguna persona deberá mantener, causar o permitir que se mantengan cerdos, cerdos o puercos dentro de la ciudad.

Estas ordenanzas están desactualizadas y el ayuntamiento debería cambiarlas, ya que la propiedad de mini cerdos se ha vuelto más popular en los últimos 5 años o más. ¿Por qué? Porque los mini cerdos son increíbles mascotas domésticas.

Los mini cerdos son animales muy inteligentes. Aprenden muy rápido, responden a sus nombres, realizan trucos y caminan con correa. También son extremadamente limpios. Los mini cerdos no tienen olor corporal, son hipoalergénicos y no son propensos a las pulgas. Además, los mini cerdos son excepcionalmente amorosos y afectuosos. Los minicerdos son animales de manada y les va mejor con otros minicerdos en su entorno. Los mini cerdos se vuelven muy apegados y formarán fuertes lazos con sus familias y otros animales en el hogar. Cuando se socializan adecuadamente, están felices de conocer nuevos amigos. ¡Los cerdos están clasificados como el cuarto mamífero más inteligente, después de los humanos, los primates y los delfines! Tienen una vida útil de 12 a 15 años cuando se cuidan adecuadamente.
