Change the Chelsea Red Devils mascot

The Issue

Growing up as a lifelong resident of Chelsea, Massachusetts, the Chelsea Red Devils mascot was a significant part of my childhood and community experience. It holds a place in my heart and echoes the pride I have for our community. Yet, as times have changed, I believe that we need a mascot that better reflects the positivity and inspiration we want to instill in our children. My little nephew, who attends Chelsea Public Schools, deserves a school mascot that promotes positivity and encouragement, that speaks to the values we wish to foster in future generations.

Chelsea, with its vibrant community and rich history, deserves a mascot that encapsulates growth, unity, and integrity. Suggestions like the Chelsea Holy Cross or the Chelsea Holy Spirits or the Chelsea Holy Ghost offer a strong alternative that maintains a sense of pride, teamwork, and community values for more greater positive influence. Both alternatives reflect courage, protection, and a commitment to helping others—qualities we all admire and want our young ones to emulate.

By transitioning to a mascot like Chelsea Holy Cross or the Chelsea Holy Spirits, we symbolize care, help, and solidarity that aligns with a modern Chelsea identity. In opting for Chelsea Holy Cross or Chelsea Holy Spirits or the Chelsea Holy Ghost, we channel bravery, defense, and honor—qualities worthy of inspiration within our schools.

Change is never easy, but it offers us the opportunity to redefine our identity positively. By supporting this initiative, we can shape a community image that empowers the youth and strengthens community ties.

It's vital to create an environment where children feel safe and motivated to be a force for good. Changing the mascot is a powerful step in this direction.

Please join us in advocating for this meaningful change. Let's redefine our school spirit in a way that echoes the values we hold dear. Sign the petition to make it happen and foster a legacy of positivity and encouragement for the entire Chelsea community.
