The Issue

Growing up in Pen Argyl, PA, being part of the Pen Argyl Green Knights and experiencing the fierce rivalry we have with Bangor has been an integral part of my life. The Beat Bangor T-shirt is more than just apparel; it's a symbol of our community spirit, unity, and friendly competition. Every year when we gear up for the main event with Bangor, those shirts represent much more than words—they carry our stories, our victories, and our unwavering school pride.

For years, these shirts have depicted designs that showcase our tradition and passion. However, recently, there has been a change in the design direction that has altered the way these T-shirts reflect our heritage. Many of us believe that the new design for the Beat Bangor T-shirt doesn't captivate the true essence and emotional resonance that these shirts should. The visual identity they've adopted is not aligning with the powerful tradition we've cultivated through decades of rivalry, energy, and pride.

I’m reaching out to students, alumni, parents, and local residents to unite in making a change that respects our past while continuing to build our future. By revisiting the T-shirt design, we can create something that not only commemorates our ongoing rivalry with Bangor but also honors the tradition and legacy we've all contributed to over the years.

We propose a community-driven approach to design the T-shirt, involving current students and alumni in the process, collecting ideas and input to ensure our traditions are accurately represented in the design.

Join us in urging the Pen Argyl School Board and the design committee to reconsider and revise the Beat Bangor T-shirt design. Sign this petition to demand a design that truly reflects our vibrant history and community spirit.
