The Issue

Formula 1 has been a significant part of my life for over 35 years. It's not just a sport; it's a passion and a way of life. I've been dedicated to watching every session, even the free practice sessions at ungodly hours. However, for the first time, I'm considering turning my back on it. The sport I once cherished has been utterly tarnished.

In an attempt to modernize and appeal to a broader audience, Formula 1 has lost touch with the essence of what made it thrilling and unique. The current rules focus heavily on battery management  at the expense of the exhilarating, flat-out racing that once defined the sport. This shift has been detrimental to the excitement and real competitiveness that originally drew fans like me to Formula 1. It's fake and we know it.

Formula 1 is supposed to represent the pinnacle of motorsport, a platform where innovation meets speed, and where drivers push the limits of possibility. Yet, with the current regulations, drivers have become gatekeepers of energy instead of the daring, exceptional racers they used to be.

It's time for the FIA and Liberty Media to recognize the voice of the fans. We propose a reevaluation of the current rules that stifle the competitive spirit and excitement of the races. By making strategic adjustments, we can ensure that Formula 1 remains both innovative and true to its roots.

Clear, actionable steps include revisiting the regulations on energy usage, allowing for more aggressive racing strategies, and reducing the extent of battery management that currently dictates race outcomes. Introducing new rules that emphasize driver skill and car performance over made-up constraints will bring back the pure thrill of the competition.

Let's return Formula 1 to its former glory and ensure that it remains the heartbeat of motorsport. Please join me in signing this petition to urge Formula 1's governing bodies to restore the excitement and passion of racing, making it once again the pinnacle of motorsport.
