Hi. I am a student at Mason Middle School in Tacoma, Washington, and I also have younger siblings who go to Washington Elementary School nearby. Like other students in our area, we take the city bus home more than two times a week. The problem is, the bus schedules are very inconvenient.

The buses for these locations leave more than 30 minutes after school ends. Mason gets out at 2:10 PM and Washington at 3:10 PM, but the buses to downtown come at 2:41 PM and 3:52 PM (the 3:52 one is usually late). The buses going the other way are even worse, arriving at 2:55 PM and 4:01 PM. This long wait makes it hard for us to get home quickly and leaves us unsupervised for a long time, and also impacts our after-school activities, homework, well-being, and sense of security.

While the 3:52 PM bus time works well for SAMi high school students, we believe that the addition of bus departure times at 2:25 PM and 3:25 PM for both directions would be more beneficial for the students of Mason Middle School and Washington Elementary School. These new bus times would provide a safer and more efficient way for us to get home after school.
