Working the night shift has been my reality for many years now. It's not just a job; it's a lifestyle. While the world sleeps, I thrive under the moonlit sky, but Tesla's current insurance structure seems to penalize those like me, who find themselves most active after dark. Night shift workers, emergency responders, and people engaged in activities that stretch well beyond the typical 9am-5pm window are unjustly burdened with higher insurance premiums simply due to our schedules.

Driving during the night should not be a factor that categorically increases one's insurance premiums. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 15 million Americans work irregular hours or night shifts, making this quite a prevalent issue. Penalizing night drivers is not only unfair, it disregards a massive population who contribute significantly to the economy and society while being active outside traditional hours.

Tesla, as a pioneer of innovation and equity, must reconsider the inclusivity of its insurance policies. A possible solution could be to evaluate driving behavior based on safety metrics rather than time of day. This way, Tesla can ensure that their insurance policies are fair and accurately reflect the driver's abilities and not just their schedule.

We urge Tesla to reevaluate and amend their car insurance policy to better support night shift workers and all those who are affected by these unnecessary surcharges. It’s time for Tesla to recognize the diversity of our work patterns and lifestyles.
