The word worm has long existed in the english vocabulary as a normal word. The word worm has expected and regular spelling matching the likes of “word”, “world, “worn”, etc. though there is a difference between these. The worm is one of the goofier organisms that everyone knows of.

It would also be agreed upon that the spelling “werm” is better on 3 points:

1. It makes more phonetic sense.
2. English is a largely latin stemmed language such as French and Italian which have their spellings as “Ver”(French) and “Verme”(Italian) not “Vor” or “Vorme”.
3. It just matches the goofiness of a worm much more accurately.

In conclusion, Worms are deserving of a proper spelling for their kind. “Werm” is a much better spelling that fits the worms likeness much better, makes more sense when reading, and matches our other latin rooted languages much better.
