Support me in taking on Change.org's role of Canada's Campaign Specialist.
The Issue
In September 2011, I started a five year journey of education to obtain my Social Service Worker diploma, and then my Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of people around me. I am thankful to have gained a variety of experiences since then, and for my interests and passions to have evolved over time.
Change.org is currently hiring a Campaign Specialist in Canada and I am fully prepared to dedicate myself to this position if given the opportunity. This is the job I have been waiting for!
As someone with an appreciation for diversity and who thoroughly enjoys advocating for fairness and equity (including everything from social justice and human rights issues, to political and environmental issues), I believe that I am an ideal candidate for this position.
I am a compassionate and energetic person who has the motivational drive, education and experience to succeed in this position. My interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are excellent, along with my coordination skills and my ability to take initiative. I am a highly driven self-starter that is organized, professional and dependable with a very strong work ethic and I consistently strive to provide quality service in everything I do.
Aside from the fact that I always think about the big-picture and aim to keep my knowledge current, I have outstanding time management, planning, coordination, social media and community relations skills. Grassroots organizing, social activism, and community engagement have also played a large part in my past roles as well. Additionally, I have previous experience with research, administrative tasks, event planning, professional writing, and community partnerships, along with sharing and signing Change.org petitions over the past several years.
Naturally, I share Change.org's deep commitment of empowering people everywhere to make positive changes in the world around them and I strongly believe that we can "be the change [we] want to see in the world" - Mahatma Gandhi.
