Sauquoit Valley Arts Department in Sauquoit, NY is going through budget cuts. The music department is some people's second home, and what we will be searching out for higher education. We have tried everything to save it, and this is our last resort. If this passes, they will be cutting jazz band, select choir, chamber choir, art club, as well as limiting the theater department. In order to save our departments, we'd need about $400,000 (edit: i've just been told it's more than that). Our main goal is to raise awareness that this happens everywhere, and music is just as important as any other subject.
