Response to CMS Board of Education Post

The CMS Board of Education recently posted a response to my claims on their Facebook, which they deleted in less than 24 hours after considerable backlash. Their response is beyond disappointing and proves to me this issue goes beyond Principal Bosco and is systemic all the way to the top. Here are a few quotes from their redacted response.

1. “Neither case [Jill Roe or Jane Doe] was a rape.”

2. “Although the Roe case was settled, it was not because we could have prevented the incident; or that the school was unsafe; or because the incident was not investigated.”

3. “Neither Ms. Roe or her parents voiced disagreement over these measures or took further action.”

4. “Principals and school staff receive annual training on Title IX reporting and investigating requirements.”

While points 1 and 2 are directly dismissive and gaslighting of myself and other survivors, points 3 and 4 directly contradict statements made by Principal Bosco UNDER OATH. Bosco admitted to not receiving Title IX training the 2014-2015 school year during which my incident took place. He also admitted to threatening me with disciplinary action under oath, stating “I just wanted her to be aware, and that she was confident that what she thought happened happened.”

I am disappointed and disgusted by CMS’s response to their students’ cries for change. They should be ashamed of themselves. But they cannot silence us. We will continue to fight for justice until our voices are heard.

Thank you everyone for your support.
