Hello, I am a student in Virginia. On July 9, 2024 our govener, Glenn Youngkin signed a bill to ban cellphone and personal device use in public schools from the first morning bell until dismissal. Which is executive order 33.

 It is a bit ridiculous. Beacuse you can't use them during your lunch, or inbetween your classes.

What if during lunch, you want to show your friends some stuff on your phone? Or take pictures? Or play some video games on your old laptop  from 2014 thats on life support and could just stop working any second?

Family cant contact you incase of an emergency and have to go through the school.

Students cant contact their family directly incase something happens .

And the consequenes for having your phone/personal devices are obsurd. In my school it reaches to a 45+ day suspension if your caught using your phone or other personal, even during lunch.

You can't even have a smart watch on either.

Now with this pettiton, we are going to try to get our Govener, Glenn Youngkin to overturn this order.
