I am relieved that after days of public pressure, two of the three children involved in the brutal assault of 5-year-old A’Marie have been charged.

This is progress — but it’s not justice.

Because justice isn’t two charges. Justice is prevention. Justice is accountability. Justice is a system that protects every child before tragedy, not after.

🧠 Children who commit violent acts need immediate psychological evaluation and treatment — not just prosecution. When we only punish without healing, we plant the same pain in another generation.

📊 In Ohio:

1 in 5 children will experience physical or sexual violence before age 12.

Over 30% of those cases involve another child as the aggressor.
Nearly 40% go unreported due to lack of advocacy, awareness, or access to services.¹

When I met A’Marie’s mother, I helped her find legal representation and connect with resources to begin rebuilding her life. But this case exposed a deeper issue that affects countless families — there are thousands of mothers in Ohio who won’t have the same help.

That’s why I created MOVE ❤️ Mamas Organizing Voter Economics 💙 under our nonprofit GROW (Growing Right Over Wealth) — to make sure families in crisis get advocacy, education, and resources before their stories become headlines.

✍🏽 Keep signing, keep sharing, and please consider donating to GROW so we can help another mother like we helped this one:

Together, we can turn outrage into reform — and pain into policy. 🌹
