Would you be willing to share your HOA experience in the comments? It will encourage others to share as well for lawmakers to see what their laws have done to homeowners and communities.

I have found the state of North Carolina has made it near impossible to find a home not connected to an HOA. That is the reason I am currently "stuck" in an HOA. With this law in place, it’s also easy for towns in NC to keep saying “yes” to construction when it becomes the problem of residential developments and HOAs to make up their own rules so towns don’t have to enforce their own codes.

There isn’t any data proving that HOAs increase property values. In my experience, the HOA is lowering my property value due to their subpar architectural requirements.
