Montana is my home state, and it has always held a special place in my heart. The vast landscapes, the majestic mountains, and the vibrant community are just a few aspects that make Montana truly unique and wonderful. However, there is one thing that has always disappointed me – our state flag. I believe Montana deserves a flag that represents its rich cultural heritage and stunning natural beauty. The current design feels more like a blue bedsheet with words and a seal in the middle, rather than a banner that we can be proud to fly.

The flag pictured is my proposal for a redesign. The flag's symbolism is as follows:
- Yellow: plains of the east
- Blue: blue skies & Missouri River
- White: snow
- Triangles pointing up: Rocky Mountains & northern identity
- Bitterroot flower: state flower
- 7-pointed star in flower: 7 Indian reservations

Let us call upon the Montana State Legislature to consider redesigning our state flag. We urge them to engage with local artists, historians, and the community to create a flag that reflects the true spirit of Montana. By doing so, we can cultivate an image that reinforces our pride in our state and strengthens our sense of belonging.
