What gets my goat is when the focus of a news article is horse before cart. Journo's like Pollies, deflect because they are part of the system. Rather than focus on the obvious corruption, and exposing the power coupling behind it, lets pick on the battler and keep him down. This isn't journalism, it's click-bait - the very excuse that Google Ads told me I wasn't allowed to advertise this very petition - HYPOCRYTES!
Do a search for "senator pocock sports club" and you'll get headlines like this:
- Pocock won't rejoin sports club
- Pocock kicked out of Parliamentary Sports Club
- Pocock reinvited to parliament sports club after Prime Minister ways in
And note ABC is included in my wrath.
Now with headlines like that, to the average punter - who cares. But the real headline here should be this:
"Albanese Presides over Parliament Sports Lobby Group"
That is the shocker. Apart from the fact I just want my PM to focus on his one job, why is he a President of a Sports Club that is also a registered Lobbyist? That's the news article. That is what we should be hounding until he resigns his presidency or PM role. How many other pollies are lining up in Sports Lobby Club bar with access to billionaires?
The fact the journos still focus on Pocock's feelings after the fact and not the massive conflict of interest, aka corruption (allegedly) of the PM's donation aka bribes (allegedly) for access scheme.
In opposition Anthony was all about politician integrity - in control he is the most secretive, dodgie, Sco-Mo we've ever had - allegedly. (yeah I don't want to get sued coz I'm not a billionaire).
The beautiful thing I look forward to is asking for your support to change one a simple word. When the NACC 'MUST' hold public hearings, I believe is when we can break this deadlock of bad politics, not just federally but state governments too. They are all linked and all focused on re-election not governing.
In fact, I'd argue our politicians and public servants and the Big 4 'accountants' and all the Big IT, Rupert and Miners, and every other billionaire and big corp. that hasn't paid their taxes etc., are so indebted to each other, that one card falls, the whole system gets reset.
And this is a good thing. Note that politicians don't produce anything. Australia will continue economically regardless of what happens to the political system. So what if our federal government is churned over and all the thugs jump ship, it's not like they are producing good policy currently.
When the NACC can't hide, secrets die, and transparency thrives. This throws a light on the mud of corruption on all those involved. And those strong enough and not caught up in the deceit, shine with integrity.
Thanks for your support and keep up the good fight. We're almost at the 1'000 signature point where I promised I'd post an interesting video regarding billionaires and in my opinion why they should be banned. And no, I'm not a communist which ironically is full of oligarchs! I'm a realist.
