OK so this case is about the NSW Government, yet it is exactly why politicians should not oversee or interfere with government agencies. Politicians only job is to represent the folks they represent and they do this by creating and debating changes to the rules. The are Public Servants - the serve us. Not the business leaders who probably don't even live in Australia.
Blocking bad reports about climate change (federal gov.) or health. Or interfering with an independent government agency, is corrupt - because there is a political advantage in doing so. Oh and it's morally bad!

Lead Poisoning Cover-Up
I know a young family has just recently moved from Sydney to Broken Hill, because the NSW Government is in demand for special needs teachers! Oh crap!
Totally aware my campaign is at the national level, and I also know that New South Wales has one of Australia's most feared commissions - ICAC - The Independent Commission Against Corruption. Clearly, they need more funding because even with an ICAC, the NSW Government still thinks it's OK to ignore the health report in favour of mining profits!
I know how this sounds but again the 1% are being advantaged over the 99%. Our institutionalised politicians have been trained to make decisions based on profit over everything else.
This is corruption and needs to be stamped out. And that is done by us demanding our right to ask questions, freedom of information, and immediate access to reports including finances like political donations.
I put it to you that if this is what happens in NSW with an ICACC what's happening federally with a limp secret squirrel NACC? And our national government has done exactly the same thing with the Climate Report, choosing Woodside profits, over future flood, fire and storm victims.
Again, I reiterate. Politicians should NEVER be in charge of business decisions! It's NOT their job nor should it be considered normal - and yet somehow it now is...
