Students gain more time to rest, complete assignments, spend time with family, and stay motivated in class. Teachers benefit from less stress and more time to plan engaging lessons, leading to better learning overall. This model can also save the district money by reducing transportation and utility costs funds that can be reinvested into classrooms, programs, and facilities that directly benefit students. With thoughtful planning and community input, MISD can make this transition without sacrificing educational quality by the 2026-2027 school year.
