Thanks for your patience! I have just spoken to Miss Gardner, Mr Corbett's PA. My hope that this would be a simple miscommunication is dashed I'm afraid.

Firstly, a huge thank you for signing this petition! Miss Gardner has only dealt with 7 parental letters and took that to mean general support of the policy. I have agreed to send her the petition so the school can see the number of people concerned about this proposal.

The school's position is

1. They believe a year's worth of tights will be cheaper than branded skirts and PE kit.
2. Reasonable adjustments will be made on an individual basis.
3. The reason they are doing it is because skirts are too short.
4. Other schools in the area have done it.
5. They had a consultation process and the policy has been agreed.
6. Mr Corbett is going to review the summer uniform in the summer. I tried to push for timescales and details but this was sketchy to say the least.

Obviously I challenged back on all of these points as they only approaching this from the teachers' perspective. 

I will send the petition signatures to Miss Gardner. However, I'm not hopeful of an swift resolution, it seems they want to use delay tactics on this one. Any ideas on next steps appreciated!
