Let's Create an Island of Readers and Leaders

This photo was taken a couple of days ago as I was driving in Cruz Bay. As everyone knows, we have a few Zombies walking around Cruz Bay and it saddens me that this could be our future on St. John. Zombies sleeping on sidewalks, undressing in front of children, and defecating in the streets, are what we see on St. John. Could this be a result of a lack of public school services for St. John or maybe it could be the result of poor early childhood education services or maybe it could be a lack of leadership within our public library systems of the VI? What is it? Something has to be done. A change in leadership is the beginning. Hire individuals who are St. Johnians, not just the Commissioner of Finance or one St. Johnian on the 175th Emancipation Committee. Stop treating St.John like a place for castaways. Stop giving tourists what the people need; clean, safe, ADA Compliance infrastructure. TREAT EVERYONE AS EQUALS! STOP TREATING ST. JOHN LIKE IT ONLY EXISTS FOR TOURISTS. WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE ON ST. JOHN WHO WORK HARD EVERY DAY TO MAKE ENDS MEET? WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO CASTS THEIR VOTES EVERY ELECTION AND STILL SEE NO REAL CHANGE FOR THE PEOPLE!
LET'S BEGIN BY CHANGING THE LEADERSHIP OF THE VI PUBLIC LIBRARIES TODAY!
