It is with tears in my eyes a write this plea to ask for support to have the law changed so that it includes cats in driving collisions. At present no driver has to stop or report hitting a cat but they do have to report hitting a dog and other animals. 
so many cats are being hit by cars, and drivers don't stop to check on the animals. 
our beautiful 2 year old cat was killed today, by a selfish hit and run driver who didn't even stop, following hitting him at speed after zooming down the road. His brother was also hit by a car in the same road only a few months before and left blind as a result of this collision. The driver also did not stop. A couple of years before this our cat was also hit and his leg completely shattered. He was lucky to survive. 
The common factor here, no driver stopped or even bothered to check if they had killed any of these pets. They were other people's family members! 

we need to  change the law to make it illegal to hit a cat while driving and not stop and report it. If this were illegal so many motorist , that are currently so reckless might be more cautious with their actions or face the consequences.
