Our school homecoming is a cherished tradition that brings joy and excitement to all students. Unfortunately, this year, the scheduled date coincides with important softball and volleyball games, causing many of our student athletes to miss out on this memorable event. It's deeply personal to me—and so many of us—because homecoming is more than just a game; it’s a night of memories, experience, and school spirit that everyone should get to experience.

In Guymon, Oklahoma, our student body values inclusion and unity. It does not seem fair or right that a portion of our school community, especially our dedicated athletes, are denied the chance to participate simply due to scheduling conflicts. These players dedicate countless hours representing our school and showcasing their talents on the field and court. They deserve to be celebrated and to partake in one of high school’s most iconic experiences.

By adjusting the date of our homecoming, we ensure every student, including those on our sports teams, has the opportunity to attend and enjoy this special evening. With a simple rescheduling, no one will feel left out or have to choose between supporting our school on the field and attending a cherished event.
