Hello Reader, My name is Haley Cohen. Northern Garrett High Schools dress code is a joke. Why should a girl have to cover up her shoulder for a teacher to be comfortable teaching. Are we not taught to teach young women to be confident and comfortable in their own bodies? I have been dress coded because my shorts were “too short” yet they were within school dress code, and was told not to wear them on school grounds again. If a young women is comfortable wearing a tank top or shorts in hot weather shouldn’t that be something we as people in today society be supporting? I will not stay quiet on something I am passionate about. "I'm writing this because this is something I care about deeply and it won't happen without the support of people like you. Starting a petition isn't something I would normally do, but I was moved to do so because I would like to wear what I feel comfortable in.
