Change Build-A-Bear Workshop’s Dress Code to Allow Tattoos

Change Build-A-Bear Workshop’s Dress Code to Allow Tattoos
The Issue
Hello all! I want to start by saying I love my job. I have been working for Build-A-Bear Workshop for almost three years! I have met some amazing people, and close friends, from this job and I don’t want that to change. I have one complaint that I have tried over and over again to bring up with HR to no success. So now I hope all of you can help us out!
I work in the hot south in a store with just 2 fans. Even when it reaches 90-100°F, I still have to wear long sleeves to cover up my tattoos. This policy is not only uncomfortable but also discriminatory against employees who choose to express themselves through body art. Many workplaces have modernized their dress codes to be more inclusive of tattoos, recognizing that they do not impact job performance or customer satisfaction.
Build-A-Bear Workshop should update its dress code policy to reflect these changes and allow employees to work comfortably without having to hide their tattoos. Sign this petition if you believe in creating a more inclusive and comfortable work environment for all employees!
