The previous Chalmers logo had a clear connection to the university’s history and identity. It felt distinct and meaningful, and it was something I was proud to represent as a student.

The new logo, on the other hand, feels more generic and less tied to that heritage. It’s simpler, but in that process it has lost its character and recognition that made the original stand out. As a student and future alumnus, it doesn’t carry the same sense of pride for me.

A university logo should reflect its history and credibility. For many of us, the previous logo did that better than the current one.

I think this decision is worth reconsidering, and I hope Chalmers takes into account how strongly students and alumni identify with its visual identity.
