The Issue

I have long felt that the 12 month calendar disrupts the balance of daily living for all human beings. The fluctuating length of months and the discrepancy of days per months have proven quite inconvenient and confusing at times. For this reason, I strongly urge that we shift to a 13 month calendar model, with each month containing 28 days.

Under this system, every month will have exactly 4 weeks making our year more uniform and organized. The International Fixed Calendar, which also goes by the name of the Eastman Plan named after George Eastman who proposed this format and implemented it at Eastman Kodak Company during 1928-1989, suggests this model. This equates to exactly 364 days which closely aligns with the solar year. To account for the remaining 1.2422 days, all we would need is just a single 'year day' to keep us in sync with the solar cycle.

Adopting this structure not only means consistency for everyone, but also easier comparison of monthly stats over different periods, facilitating businesses and data analysis.

While the shift may require adjustments in technical systems and traditional practices, the long term benefits make it a choice valuable to consider.

The time is now to review our calendar system to improve our daily living, toward a more balanced clearest time understanding. Sign this petition if you agree we need a change in our calendar system.
