PWCS is under heavy ice and snow. Most families cannot safely make it to school because of ongoing weather conditions. The Superintendent has decided to make it a 2- hour delay for Thursday 1/29. We ask that she reconsiders and changes it to a code red for the safety of our community. All surrounding schools in surrounding counties are CLOSED! Sign this to make a difference. There arnt any side walks for kids K-12 to stand for bus stops. They would have to stand in the street!!! It’s not worth risking the lives of students and staff trying to make it to work. Help people stay off the roads and stay home because they shouldn’t have to worry about their bus or car sliding off the road or crashing. Some areas haven’t even been touched by the plows even the plow drivers say “it’s terrible out there” they can’t even keep up! The ice keeps freezing over night and any thing that melts turns into an icey night mare! The buses have been caked in ice for a week! It’s not just the students but also the staff and PARENTS are not agreeing with this! It’s all over Facebook and everywhere about angered parents! Even Manassas City is CLOSED as well as London and Arlington! When it is 9 degrees outside 2 hours does nothing. A code orange is intended for a prolonged period of time and this is IT. If they really care about us having learning 1/29 than they can at least make it remote learning like other surrounding counties!
