Support local farmers who deliver our farm-to-table foods by keeping local land in agriculture. Florida Sugarcane Farmers provide a reliable source of locally grown foods like sweet corn, vegetables, produce and rice alongside natural sugarcane. And, we use high-tech, smart farming methods that are providing water to our surrounding ecosystem that’s cleaner than the nation’s toughest water-quality standards.

Our local community is fortunate to be home to the Everglades Agricultural Area, one of the most productive agricultural basins in the world. It is a leader in the supply of important foods like winter vegetables and leafy greens that cannot grow elsewhere during the cold season. It also provides good jobs for more than 12,000 local farming families.

Our community has already lost more than 100,000 valuable acres of EAA farmland that the State of Florida has taken out of production for water storage and cleaning projects. Urge the Legislature to help local farmers and protect access to locally grown foods and farmland.
