The Southern University Department of Music & Arts has produced many stellar and internationally reknown musicians and artists. This is important because the degrees of future music education, performance and art majors will be jeopardized. We, the students, pay for a quality education and that's exactly what we deserve. If the Music/Arts programs merge with other non-music/art programs, the quality of education will diminish and will no longer be concentrated and specified. We need help to achieve our goal and our goal is to insure that the rich music and arts tradition here at Southern University continues to thrive and produce many successful musicians and artists for tomorrow.  So we are petitioning the leaders at Southern University as well as our federal elected officials of Louisiana to give the students of Southern's Dept. of Music and Arts the quality education we deserve.  Stop the Consolidation!
