Students need to be safe in order to learn. Teachers and school staff need to be safe in order to do their jobs well. Please do not jump on the anti-police sentiment of the moment and cut ties with the brave men and women of the NYPD. SSAs are a vital component of school safety. We feel that we need them to be fully funded, and continue to be managed by the NYPD. More counselors, social workers, and reformative justice programs should be funded AS WELL as SSAs, not as a replacement for them.
