Tell Chancellor Blank to postpone, rather than cancel UW-Madison's Commencement Ceremony
The Issue
The UW-Madison Class of 2020 recognizes both the challenges faced by our communities and the difficult situation Chancellor Blank is in because of COVID-19.
However, the situation continues to evolve by the hour, and that is why we are urging Chancellor Blank to wait before possibly cancelling our Spring Commencement Ceremony. Even if it is not possible to hold Commencement as scheduled, we support postponing it rather than cancelling it altogether or changing it to a virtual experience.
We have worked our entire adult lives for this moment, and we want to end our college careers as Badgers the right way: arm-in-arm singing our time-honored "Varsity" and jumping around in Camp Randall one last time. Together.
